If I make you light-bearers, you don’t think I’m going to hide you under a bucket, do you? I’m putting you on a light stand. Now that I’ve put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand – shine! Keep open house; be generous with your lives. Matthew 5:15-16 (MSG)

Tell us a little about your website/mission/ministry.
I am a grateful recovered alcoholic. My past mess has become my message. My utmost purpose is to help others avoid and recover from addiction. Through recovery coaching, writing, videos, podcasts, motivational speaking, I share my message of a new and transformed life through recovery. It is a transformation made possible by the renewed grace of God and just simply letting go of the past and letting God.
What is the number one thing on your bucket list? Will you do it?
To have a nice secluded cabin up in the mountains of Colorado. A place that is absolute heaven on earth for me. As long as I continue to seek God, fulfill my purpose, then God will provide the desires of my heart, so absolutely yes.
If you could go back in time, what advice would you give to your younger self?
Take the time to love who you are. Accept yourself, the good, bad, and the ugly. Then daily work at becoming the best version of you, you can be.
If you could change anything about the world we live in now, what would it be and why?
People’s willingness to accept mediocrity. That we could light the fire of people’s dreams and desires so that they not only would come to know their “why”, their real purpose, but have the tools and the drive to achieve them once again.
If you could spend an evening with any fictional character, who would it be? What would you do?
I would spend an evening with Peter Pan. We would fly and fight pirates, crocodiles, natives, and just be BOYS. Re-connect with the kid in me.
I’ve included you because I believe you are bringing much-needed light to this world. Why do you do what you do? What keeps you going every day?
I do what I do because I have found a purpose through my recovery. Others helped me to cross that river and now I must do the same. It is in the service of others that I find my strength and purpose. And it is that purpose that drives me. Each day someone is put across my path, and I grow and become stronger as I help them and they help me. If I am seeking to be the best dad, husband, son and brother then I am helping to make life better for the ones I love when for much of my past I was not.
