I co-write this series with my husband, Cole. Our mission for these books is to bring the Bible to life for readers. Our characters travel back in time and experience the bible stories firsthand.
Chip and Caroline are 8-year old twins from Chicago. They arrive on Palmetto Island to spend the summer with their grandparents while their parents are on a mission trip. Grandfather is a minister of a church on the island, and he and Grandma live next door. The first morning, Chip and Caroline head out to play on the church playground, and meet Billy, the almost 11-year old boy who lives next door.
Billy takes them up to the old bell tower so they can see the whole island. The bell no longer works, he tells them, but one of them rings it and……well, you need to read Mystery in Bethlehem to find out.
You don’t have to read them in order as each story is self-contained, but there are references to the previous adventure at the beginning of each book and a developing story arc for Billy. I would recommend reading them in order.

Our fifth book, Den of Danger, is currently being written and will be out soon. Our kids travel back in time to the story of Daniel. It’s going to be awesome!

There is this "tough place" with young readers - where they might want to start reading chapters books... but it's intimidating for them. This series is remarkable - it gives its young readers a totally "doable" chapter book format, with a mystery, with humor, with fun, with faith! I loved this one! Makes a GREAT Christmas gift and a great way to encourage readers to get the whole series!
As an adult, I read this book to make sure it would be appropriate to recommend for young readers, and i was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed it myself! It's well written, on point and sure to keep readers attention! I also have "Mystery in Bethlehem" which I will read ASAP!
Mystery in Bethlehem is an adventure story! The excitement and curiosity of three children enjoying summer break find themselves right in the middle of a Bible story! Observing a different land, culture and making new friends but ultimately witnessing the birth of Jesus. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading to my four grandchildren!
I am so impressed with this series! My sons, ages 9 and 10, are a perfect fit for the mystery story-line that keeps them turning pages... and learning about biblical times. The writing is high quality, the illustrations are excellent. All in all a great addition to your spiritual library for your kids. Also, a GREAT option for a read-aloud.
