Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (NLT)
There are seasons in life when we face hard things. Our marriages fall apart. Our children turn away from us. We fall ill or fall into addiction. We lose jobs and homes and hope. We look in the mirror and see a person we barely recognize anymore.
The beautiful truth about seasons is that they change. At some point, every season will come to an end and a new season will take its place. Always.
The bleak, barren days of winter always give way to the fresh, hope-filled days of spring. The ground covered in dead weeds and brown grass suddenly becomes green and dotted with flowers. Ugliness turns to beauty. The season that feels endless receives an end.
If you are enduring a season of hard, don’t lose hope! God’s plans for you are good. He knows your heart and your deepest desires. Be joyful when you can. Pray and fellowship with your heavenly Father. Be thankful for things big and small. We can always find something to be grateful for in our lives. Even if it’s something as simple as indoor plumbing. Because honestly, who isn’t grateful for that? I know I am!
