Come let us sing to the Lord! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come to him with thanksgiving. Let us sing psalms of praise to him.
For the Lord is a great God, a great King above all Gods. He holds in his hands the depths of the earth and the mightiest mountains. The sea belongs to him, for he made it. His hands formed the dry land, too. Psalm 95:1-5 (NLT)
Sweet Friend,
I love these verses for two reasons. They perfectly illustrate how mighty God is but also how personal he is too.
God wants us to come to Him, shouting with joy, praising, being thankful, singing and celebrating. He longs for a relationship with us, to be part of our lives daily, and to be in conversation with Him about all things big and small.
He is a God of tiny details and intimate feelings.
But He is so much more than that.
He is also the God that formed the world. Literally formed the world. He holds the entire earth in His hand. He made the mountains and the sea and the land and the heavens and the stars and every person who has ever lived. He did all of it.
He is a God of majestic creation and the artist of all things beautiful.
He is also your heavenly father. He loves you more than anyone you will ever know. He will never leave you. He will never hurt you. He will never abandon or destroy or demean or ignore you. You are his most precious child and He adores everything about you.
If the storms of this world are threatening you today, remember that God is right there with you, at this very moment, with His arms wrapped around you. He will meet you in the hard places. He will give you strength to go on and will give you courage to turn and face the enemy.
Talk to Him today! He’s waiting to hear from you.
