If I make you light-bearers, you don’t think I’m going to hide you under a bucket, do you? I’m putting you on a light stand. Now that I’ve put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand – shine! Keep open house; be generous with your lives. Matthew 5:15-16 (MSG)

Tell us a little about your website/mission/ministry.
I write to use the experiences I have faced from going through my own personal nightmare with addiction. To hopefully stop another from having to see so much of their own. To send a message of healing, hope, and love. To give hope to those who have come looking for it for the last time. Much like somone did for me and now its my life’s mission to give it all back and then some. Because “alone we don’t stand a chance, but together, we can change the world!”
What is the number one thing on your bucket list? Will you do it?
Write a book! A chronological collection of all of my articles from my website in paperback, and yes, if it is God’s will, it shall be done and I believe it will be within the next few years. Outside of that a trip out of the country at some point would be nice. I would like to visit the U.K. one day.
If you could go back in time, what advice would you give to your younger self?
Be gentle with myself, that it is going to be o.k. Even though the pain is far worse than you ever anticipated, just hold on and remember to always, always, always, keep breathing even when your mind says it’s game over just quit. Keep trying, God will use you if you just keep marching Soldier! Wow, that question was really emotional for me as I sit here in tears thanking God for seeing more in me than I was able to see in myself many times. For keeping me alive even when I didn’t want to be. And then for letting me use those experiences to help his people, what an honor. Please be gentle with yourself, PLEASE!!
If you could change anything about the world we live in now, what would it be and why?
That there would be more LOVE! That we would not fear connection as we do now. That we could put our egos and false sense of pride behind us and say excuse me, I’m lonely, would you mind hanging out with me. To have a sense of community and unity, a brother and sisterhood, a family. That we would have some care and concern for even a stranger’s well-being.
If you could spend an evening with any fictional character, who would it be? What would you do?
To be really honest with you,I don’t read much fiction, almost never,so I can’t even think of a character I would want to hang with or what to do. But it would be kinda cool to hang out with Yosemite Sam – just to raise a little hell back in his ole west type day!
I’ve included you because I believe you are bringing much-needed light to this world. Why do you do what you do? What keeps you going every day?
I do this because nothing happens in my God’s world by mistake. And if “all things work together for good for those who love God and are called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28, then there has to be good that can come from my 20+ years of hard core drug addiction There has to be: scripture says so, and scripture that makes promises like that always hold true.
What keeps me going everyday is the fact what I have to say could be just what someone needs to hear in order to keep them breathing one more day, in hopes that they too will begin to love themselves as God loves them. Remember he’s a forgiving God and he wants nothing more than for you to be happy and completely saturated by his love. Be blessed, my friends!
