If I make you light-bearers, you don’t think I’m going to hide you under a bucket, do you? I’m putting you on a light stand. Now that I’ve put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand – shine! Keep open house; be generous with your lives. Matthew 5:15-16 (MSG)

Tell us a little about your website/mission/ministry.
I think of myself as a recovery advocate. Everything I do is to reach people who might be stuck in a miserable boozy hole like I was, and send a message that recovery is not only possible but awesome! I’m always looking for ways to put a positive spin on my alcohol-free life, to illustrate how it’s not all boring and hard work – it’s often full, fun and highly rewarding. I just feel so great being sober I want others to experience the turnaround I did after beating my addiction.
What is the number one thing on your bucket list? Will you do it?
I want to stay sober until the day I die and of course I will do that! Other bucket list items are to visit India and write a novel.
If you could go back in time, what advice would you give to your younger self?
Honestly – If I was able to go back in time and meet a younger me I wouldn’t give her any advice at all. I’d let her follow her own path because I have faith in her (me)! So maybe my advice would be: follow your own path, I have faith in you.
If you could change anything about the world we live in now, what would it be and why?
I’d change it so that we all – Governments and individuals – make massive changes to how we live so that we protect the future of our planet. Because we really need to. And wouldn’t it be lovely if everyone was kind to one another all the time…
If you could spend an evening with any fictional character, who would it be? What would you do?
I’d take my 7-year-old and we’d hang out with Captain Underpants (and George and Harold of course). So much fun!
I’ve included you because I believe you are bringing much-needed light to this world. Why do you do what you do? What keeps you going every day?
I can keenly remember the awful, lonely, stuck place I was in when I was addicted to alcohol, and I know there are many, many people who are right now stuck in that very same place – feeling miserable, confused, hopeless and weak. I won’t ever let myself forget that hell-hole I was in and I want to help others get out so they can feel as great as I do now that I’m sober.
Thank you, Lotta, for bringing light to the world and being an inspiration to so many!
