One of the biggest benefits of being sober is renewing my relationship with Him. I’m spending more time in the Word, praying, listening. I’m in daily conversation with Him about where He wants me to go with my recovery and my life.
I wanted to share some Bible verses that help me, provide encouragement and hope.. The first days of sobriety can be lonely and scary and very unfamiliar. There may be days of sickness and despair. A old life is being left behind and a new life is forming. The whole process can be overwhelming.
The Bible is full of goodness and help almost anywhere you turn. I never fail to find a verse to help. When I’m hurting, I find comfort. When I’m weary, I find rest. When I’m scared, I find strength. When I’m hopeless, I find hope. When I feel lost, I find a light. When I’m lonely, I find Him.
These are the verses that particularly touched me.
Most of these verses are from the NIV translation but a few are from King James because I just love them in that version. The 23rd Psalm will forever be the King James version in my mind.
